Sick Little Munchkin plus a Running Challenge

HandsThis morning I woke up and one of my little munchkins was sick.  She didn’t have a high fever but she just seemed, well, sick.  She has had a cough for a week and it just keeps getting worse.  My husband and I took her to the doctor and she has a pretty bad ear infection.  This is my littlest munchkin who always seems sick.  I really hope the medicines + humidifier + rest will help her get better.

Since we can’t leave the house, we made a Valentine’s Day present for Grandma.  Otherwise we all might have gone a wee bit crazy stuck in the house all day.

We made a heart hand print heart for Grandma.  This project was so incredibly easy to do.  Everything that I needed for this project was in my craft cabinet.  I had a few pieces of red craft paper and some white washable paint that I could use for the hand prints.

I used a paint brush to paint the white paint onto the kids hands.  My little kids go to daycare and preschool, it is so cute that they know exactly what to do for a hand print project.  Put your hand out please and get ready for paint.

Hand PrintsAfter the paint dried, I wrote ‘Happy Valentine’s Day 2014’ underneath their hand prints.  I found a couple picture frames upstairs in the attic that I thought looked pretty good with the hand prints.

Challenge –  Run 1 Mile

I am always trying to be a runner.  I would love to be able to run just a few miles in a row but I just can’t do it.  I don’t know if it’s that I am not built for running or I just am training wrong but I can’t seem to run jog for a long distance.  The most I have ever jogged is about 1 mile without stopping.  And that was after months and months of running 10 minutes, walking 5 minutes, running 10 minutes and so on until I made my way up to jogging for 20 minutes.

So when I saw that Tina over at Carrots ‘N Cake was having a challenge to run one mile.  I thought this would be a great challenge for me.  I am only a beginner at running, so my goal is to run 1 mile at the end of the week without stopping.  I am going to try to get on the treadmill every night this week to be able to accomplish this goal.

Tonight I was able to run 1 mile with 2 walking breaks.
